To create an athletics program to benefit the youth of our community. To set a foundation and provide a blueprint for our local youth to build on as they participate in sports that as they mature they will be able to benefit from athletics and become positive role models and contributing members in our community.
By teaching the fundamentals of athletics from an holistic approach, we may be able to strengthen the performance of our youth in all aspects of life.
Jeffery Barnes formerly out of Portland Jamaican WI migrated to Albany NY in 2000 as a youngster. Jeffery was an academic and track and field standout at Fair Prospect Primary School. Not too long after Jeffery picked up track and field again in the states. After graduating Albany High School in 2006 where he recorded numerous accolades, Jeffery attended the University at Albany where he competed in Track and Field at the Division I level as a scholarship athlete. Jeffery recorded numerous school records as a member of relay teams and was conference champion over the 200m in 2006. Jeffery graduated with a bachelors degree in human biology. After graduation, Jeffery went back to coach at his high school.
In his first two years Jeffery served as an assistant coach in the sprints. In 2015 Jeffery was asked to serve as the head coach for the girl’s track and field team. In his four years of coaching, Jeffery has produced numerous section II champions over the 100m, 200m, 4x100m, and state qualifiers in the 4x100m.
